Tesori Rottweilers is located in the town of Howell, New Jersey. We are dedicated to raising and breeding quality dogs, all while building long lasting relationships with our puppy buyers. We aim to produce healthy dogs that are correct to their breed standard in structure, type, health, temperament, and purpose. Who We Are
We are Ken and Dana Mariano. Before meeting, Ken was introduced to the Rottweiler breed as a teenager, when his older brother brought home a puppy. Dana grew up around all kinds of animals, including horses, goats, birds, reptiles, cats, rodents, rabbits, and all different breeds of dogs. Her parents also raised and bred Boxers.
After meeting in 2012, Dana herself still had Boxers, and when discussing getting a new puppy together, as a couple, Ken had convinced her to look into Rotties. While taking the time to thoroughly research the breed and breeders, they came across one breeder that stood out to them and they took home their first Rottie puppy in 2015.
After truly falling in love with the breed, we never turned back and decided we wanted more. We took on an adventure of adopting a Rottweiler from a local shelter, who had an unfortunate story. He had been let down by all of the people in his life, ended up as a stray, hit by a car, which broke his pelvis, and he landed himself in the shelter. When we adopted him, he was friendly towards us, but shortly after he became comfortable in our home, he showed his true colors. He was both dog and human aggressive. We put him through a very extensive behavior training program, which opened up a whole new world of dogs for us. We both enrolled ourselves in a dog training school to learn and become professional dog trainers.
We got married in 2018, and we brought a third Rottweiler into our home, which we purchased from the same breeder we got our first one. Then, in 2020 we added a fourth Rottie, again from the same breeder. We started getting involved with AKC conformation and the passion of purebred dogs was ignited!
We originally wanted to save all the aggressive Rottweilers that would never find homes, after realizing that training, dedication, and the right person(s) could fix the dog. However, we later realized we could make more of a difference by putting better dogs out into the world, educating people on the breed, and making sure the puppies we produce land themselves in the right homes. We are so thankful for all of our mentors, who have helped us along the way, to make our dreams come true.
